Quick Overview Of Branding.
As i discussed in my last post, Branding is the process of developing a unique name or identity or product or a business, branding ensures awareness and create loyalty among the customers
In other words, Branding is a symbolic representation of information associated with a product or service. a brand particularly consists of a name, logo, other visible features including colour combinations, fonts, images, symbols, e.t.c. a brand raises a number of expectations in the minds of the individuals in relation with particluar goods or services.

We have 6 types of branding which i am going to dive into in this article.
Product Branding
This is the most common and easiest type of branding, product branding is a symbol or design that identifies and differentiate a product from the other products.

Product branding is very easily noticable, for instance when you walk through a supermarket they direct different product as most product are branded with unique colour, design and logo
Personal Branding.
This very type of branding is very common amongs politicians and celebrities, Personal branding makes it possible for many famous people to reflect a good image of themselves to the public.

Social media is very powerful when building a personal brand, because you have the ability to reach wide audiences while “speaking” from a personal platform. Entrepreneur like Neil patel is a good example of personal branding done in the right way. He invested heavily in his online presence and has established himself as an expert in his field.
Corporate Branding.
This type of branding is used by business or brands like Coca Cola, Audi, Nike, Apple and so on.. interested in creating and maintaing a good reputation, one of the most reputation focused types of branding, corporate branding is about making a cultivated name for an entire corporation.
The public will associate the organization’s name with a promise that they stand behind the service they offer and that they have a verifiable, positive performance record.

Good corporate branding has a long term effects, as these companies can rely on name brand-recognition; customers tends to automatically trust new products when they are associated with a brand they already recognize.
Geographical Branding.
This type of branding is used for a specific services and products that are used for a particular reason, geographical branding is commonly used in the tourist industry.

If you work in the tourist industry, this type of branding is for you. geographical branding focuses on the unique traits of a specific area or region as the selling point of a particular place and why you should visit, you would also see countries claiming a type of food as their own or hyping up the unique history of the region. (Think olumo rock or Nike lake).
Re-tail Branding.
Retail branding is a strategy based on the brand concept which is transported to a retail company, a retail brand is a group of retailer outlets which carry a unique name, symbo or logo.
Retail branding is mostly used by industry giants to increase the interest of consumers and make product sales outpace the competition, a lot of money is spent to develop unique brand images that convince consumers to select their brand instead of others. Retail branding however requires a lot of planning. the right strategy needs to be adopted to ensure it’s sucess.
Co-Branding.
This is a type of branding that associates the brand of two or more companies with a specific product or service. it can also be described as marketing patnership between two or more brands such that the success of one brand rubs off on the other, Co-branding is very effective in building business, increasing awareness and breaking into new markets
